Gordes is the home of the grand hotel. The Bastide de Gordes is undergoing an 18 million renovation to include a formal French garden and revamped rooms in the style of an 18th century castle. There’s also Les Bories, and the Mas des Herbes Blanches where guests can sate themselves on Michelin star cooking.  A much simpler offering is the Mas de La Senacole. There are no glorious views, just a charming garden and a picturesque swimming pool. There’s a spa and a good restaurant next door. The rooms are attractively decorated and the delights of the northern Luberon villages a short drive away, and here’s the good news, even in high season, you can still see change from €150 for a night’s stay.
