Sarah Morton is a well known British crime writer. Seeking solitude to write for her new novel, she accepts an offer from her publisher John Bosload to stay at his home in the Luberon. Sarah falls in love with the beautiful Provencal countryside and unhurried pace of life. Then late one night, John’s troubled French daughter Julie unexpectedly arrives. Sarah’s English reserve is threatened by Julie’s reckless, sexually charged lifestyle. Their relationship sets off an increasingly troubling series of events, as Sarah’s fictional plot and real-life events begin to blend dangerously together.
As always with films set in the Luberon, the countryside is as much of a star as the actors.
